Radiology displays

There are two main types of user Radiology use cases:
– for highest quality Diagnostic use the display needs to present a near perfect grayscale.
– a Clinical display system that has lower requirements

Diagnostic Displays

The smallest differences in the dark areas of the image needs to be clearly visible. The standard followed is DICOM and the monitor should have a calibration sensor that is mounted to the front of the display and used to regularly calibrate and verify that the display follows the strict standard.

Clinical Displays

Often used as multi-purpose displays for text, data and images. These displays often have a preset that follow the DICOM standard when shipped from the manufacturer but is not calibrated regularly and therefore cannot guarantee the quality over time.
